Getting ready for paint

The gears at the aft end of the engine were aligned and connected.  The shaft at the top comes off of the camshaft drives the tachometer.

There are marks on the gears that needed to be aligned to provide proper timing.  Purple marker dye was applied to make the marks easier to see.

It was worth another look at those retaining rings on the counter weights. The through bolts that would also attach the cylinders were placed earlier and tighten with temporary nuts.  Before putting the cylinders on we were going to paint everything to reduce the incidence of any corrosion.

You can see remnants of the assembly lubricant.  It won't look this shiny again for a very long time.

The castellated nuts were safety wire tied.

Starting to look more like an engine again.

Gasket placed on aft end with sealant.

Aft housing placement.

Oil sump ready to bolt on.

Bulk assembly completed and masked for paint.
